Masaaki Takahashi
YoseMono Artist, Jewelry Designer, Architect
Apprenticed under the renowned Scandinavian master, Juha Leiviskä in Finland, Takahashi had a successful career as an architect. He later assumed leadership of his family’s jewelry business and has become well-known as a designer for celebrities, receiving numerous awards for his creations.
Takahashi is the master craftsman of “YoseMono” art form and is one of very few who can create tiaras with this highly-skilled and precise technique. In 2013, his collections of YoseMono jewelry were recognized as The Traditional Crafts by Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
Nominated among 70 leading designers to Swarovski World Jewelry Facets 2014, Takahashi’s “flame of Fire” tiara received rave reviews from international audience and press.
His designs using the versatile YoseMono Art technique result in a limitless variety of expressions from jewelry to home accessories and interior design.

YoseMono is a traditional art that is not taught in schools, but only transfered from a parent to a child. Time consuming, arduous and challenging, there are not many YoseMono jewelers today. Takahashi is only one of a handful artists who can produce a 3-D structure, such as tiara.
